Bison Wood Tiles are a modular, preassembled rooftop decking system that features beautiful select-cut Brazilian hardwood. Bison Wood Tiles are ideal for providing the beauty and upscale appearance of real wood. A commercial grade material, they are constructed with stainless steel screws, and can be periodically treated with oil to preserve and enhance their original color, or left untreated to develop a natural aged finish. Bison Wood Tiles are three times harder than red oak, Class A fire rated, low-maintenance, highly durable, and long-lasting. Bison Wood Tiles work in conjunction with Bison Deck Supports for a level and strong roof-top deck.
Bison Wood Tiles utilize wood sources that have been harvested in an environmentally responsible method, designed to preserve and enhance the economic viability of rainforest hardwoods. Bison preassembled wood tiles utilize two-foot slats so that remnants from other manufacturers are used, furthering the efficient use of materials and reducing waste. Bison Ipê Wood Tile sources utilize a select cut method where only mature trees are harvested, leaving the vast majority of the forest intact. Not only does this method preserve the rainforest; it increases the value of the wood in the local economy and discourages the need to clear the forest for farming or ranching. Bison Massaranduba Wood Tiles are certified (FSC-C013454) to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards; the FSC is a third-party entity that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. An FSC certification ensures that wood products have positive environmental attributes backed by a global system of verification.
